Slow Divide Demo (8-22-99)
  1. Slow Divide
  2. A Quixotic Lust For Splendor
  3. Bailey

NOTES:
For only having 3 songs, this cassette was a little lengthy. Our first major attempt at progressive rock, "Slow Divide" would later be revised with a new chorus and different vocal lines. "A Quixotic Lust For Splendor" is actually a track from Justin's first band, MONIKER and served as the oldest song in LARVAMIND's setlist. Nixon wrote "Bailey" as a tribute to his father...

ART:
Yes, that is a sperm and egg. But even though there is some barcode action going on here, there was no real statement to be made.

PRODUCTION:
This recording was made using the same relatively basic techniques of the first demo but due to tensions in the band, less time was spent in preparation. The result was a dull and lifeless collection of songs that would later be rerecorded and released several months later.

Any band will tell you that if there is tension within the group it will sometimes come out louder than the recording itself; and this was definately the case. Because of which, this demo only appeared in limited cassette form while the original pressing was later destroyed.
