For completest's sake, the original tracklisting of this disc has been expanded and the recordings remastered. The original version of this didn't have
"Friction a/b" or
"Useless Star" but instead had repeated Xmas acoustic tracks.
The problem with The Christmas Album and Milk Heavy is that both discs were recorded in the same sessions and then were never released appropriately. In fact, after The Charger Demo EP we stopped selling cds and just started making them for ourselves and our friends. But with these discs, pressure was placed on us for the first time reguarding copyrights and marketability. We had gone from a stubborn heavy rock band that did its own thing for so long to the verge of being corporate whores and selling out to our surrounding scenes. By the time these albums were finished, we had gone through 2 potential managers in a months time and read enough contracts to really build disgust for the whole industry. This caused an almost 3 month delay before Milk Heavy was even released and by that time we were ready to move on with a whole new batch of songs. Shortly after, Daval left the band and this disc [which he funded] serves as his grand finale.
ART:
In case you're curious, the cover of this album was actually a left over graphic from a flyer put together for a show we never played. At the last minute we used it as an album cover despite the fact that it was copyrighted artwork from a box of Sav-A-Lot Croc-O-Crunch cereal. It was always Justin's intention to have it changed to something less hoaky and more "Larvamind".
PRODUCTION:
The engineering was also whisper-quiet in some spots and needed to be boosted a bit. It took almost a full year for these recordings to be remastered and may some day be rereleased with full graphics and better artwork. A double album is likely, but not for sometime.
