NOTES:
This is really the first
no holds barred release from Larvamind. The length of time it took between the release of
Milk Heavy to
Confusing Beauty? was by far the longest stretch we had gone without attempting to record anything.
"Thresholds" is actually a demo of a then unfinished tune while the rest were a bit preordained. Though
"Me (Thinly Disguised)" is one of the oldest songs in the LM setlist, a recording wasn't even attempted until that day. This version was laden with dolphin sounds and other odd noises and pretty much unrehearsed and recorded off the cuff. In fact, it was more of a sound check for the project that was later mastered from the reel and included on the disc.
"Pressure Flip -RTI" was the first time we ever attempted to edit any of our songs.
"AQL4S" would have been yet another throw away b-side track [like the 4 or 5 tunes that didn't make the album], but Bob and Nixon were insistant it was included somewhere.
ART:
The blurry flower album covered was a picture Justin's mom had taken that Bob really dug. What better way to dress a hard-industrial edged package then with an organic cover?
PRODUCTION:
Another 4 track recording that would have sounded better if more time was spent on setting the levels. As it were we had opened our private studio [dubbed 'The Frass Factory'] for other bands to make low buget recordings and had very little time for ourselves at that point. In just a matter of months, Larvamind would be no more.
